Head of Biomedical Engineering Department
Job Summary
Overseeing the maintenance, safety and efficiency of all medical equipment in the hospital, ensuring compliance with standards and minimal downtime. The office holder will also assist in procurement, training and technological advancements to enhance patient care.
Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee implementation of preventive, predictive, corrective and routine repair and maintenance schedules.
- Install, adjust, maintain, repair, or provide technical support for biomedical equipment
- Oversee testing, troubleshooting and repairing malfunctions for medical equipment
- Manage the administrative aspects of the Maintenance / Bio-medical department
- Manage and allocate workloads to Biomedical Engineering staff and faculty
- Spearhead training of Biomedical / Maintenance Staff.
- Evaluate the safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of biomedical equipment
- Train clinicians and other personnel on the proper use and maintenance of biomedical equipment
- Prepare procedures, write technical reports, and make recommendations based on the findings
- Spearhead research and innovation in the biomedical engineering department.
- Analyze and Present research findings to hospital management, engineers, other colleagues.
- Maintain supplies and biomedical inventory by checking stock, anticipating needs, placing and expediting orders, and verifying receipt.
Qualifications
- A degree in Biomedical Engineering from a recognized university.
- Must possess relevant experience in the field of specialization.
- Demonstrated work experience in the medical field / capacity to learn.
- Demonstrated people skills and ability to work with diverse cadres of staff.
- Demonstrated interest in research, innovation.
