Duties and Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to paediatric patients in accordance with established nursing protocols and hospital policies.
  • Monitor and assess patients’ conditions, administer prescribed medications, and respond promptly to any changes in health status.
  • Assist physicians during examinations, procedures, and treatments.
    Ensure accurate documentation of patient care and maintenance of medical records.
  • Manage equipment within the paediatric unit, ensuring proper use, maintenance, and accountability.
  • Participate in health education and counselling for patients and families, promoting a supportive and caring environment.
  • Uphold quality and safety standards in line with hospital procedures and ISO certification requirements.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
    Supervise and mentor junior nursing staff and students where applicable.

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from a recognized institution.
  • Registered and licensed with the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK).
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in paediatric nursing within a reputable healthcare institution.
  • Demonstrated understanding of quality management systems and ISO certification standards.
  • Strong managerial, supervisory, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork abilities.
  • Compassionate, patient-centered, and committed to continuous professional development.
  • BLS/ACLS certifications are an added advantage
