Oncology is a field of medicine focused on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer. Advances in cancer survival can be attributed to three main factors: increased efforts to reduce exposure to risk factors (such as tobacco smoking and alcohol consumption), improved screening methods for various types of cancer (allowing for early detection), and advancements in treatment. Outspan Hospital offers a variety of cancer screening services, including CT scans, MRI, ultrasound, tumor markers, and others, giving us an advantage in managing and preventing cancer cases.
Outspan Hospital features a nine-bed day care cancer unit that has been accredited by the National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF). The unit provides chemotherapy treatment for patients with various types of cancer and offers palliative care services to improve the quality of life for patients and their families. Our team includes an Oncologist, Medical Officer, Oncology Nurses, Palliative Care Nurses, Physician, Psychologist, and other professionals who play various roles in the care, treatment, and rehabilitation of cancer patients.
